MozCoffee V.11.

Finally a meetup after so long happened to be on 15 July,2017. Everybody gathered around 11.30 at the Spring house Qutub, Qutub Minar, New Delhi. It was a step to rejuvenate the Mozpacers community again so that more contributors could get into the community.
Bhuvnesh give a kickstart to the event by giving introduction to Mozilla and it’s mission. Further, Sanyam firstly helped us to get to know the interests of newbies and guided them how to contribute in various projects of Mozilla. He also highlighted open source ethics and much more. Then, Pushpita continued with his session and focused on Womoz and various other projects.
We had refreshments in between to gear up the participants with energy. Then Bhuvnesh finally continued to end up the session with how Mozilla can help the newbies and how it has helped existing members.

We took some pictures with the new and existing community members and a  step towards rejuvenating the Mozpacers  was already taken.

Passionately Curious Womoz

Passion is the energy that keeps us going, that keeps us filled with meaning, and happiness, and excitement, and anticipation. Passion is a powerful force in accomplishing anything we set our mind to, and in experiencing work and life the fullest extent possible.

With the Mozilla’s mission of ‘Open Source’, I joined the Mozpacers (Mozilla Delhi NCR) Community when I came to know about it from my friends.

Open Source has always fascinated me a lot. When initially I joined the community I realized in every other meetup, we always had a small talk about the open source with the newbies. I slowly got well acquainted with the idea and the community and it’s structure and process. When I joined in October 2015 as a documentation contributor, I never thought I could write well until my reps and fellow community members didn’t appreciate me. It was always this positive energy that filled me with the enthusiasm to work more for Mozilla.

Mozilla appreciates for every small work you do whether it is the technical or the non-technical work and who the hell in this world isn’t delighted to hear some words of appreciation from the great mentors, reps and the fellow colleagues.

Eventually, I suggested edits for the Mozilla Delhi wiki page and they were accepted too. My hopes increased, I was really feeling by now that I can contribute in various other projects also.

“You don’t have to say everything to be a light. Sometimes a fire built on a hill will bring interested people to your campfire.”

The idea of “Open Source” fascinated me much to be a part of the community. What has always made Mozilla a fascinating and compelling place for me, is the passion of the community, and its people, to apply technology and scientific thinking to major societal issues. Our community has always tried to help the people in the best possible way we can. From kids to women, from entrepreneurs and working professionals to college students, every dimension of the society we tried to cover. We came up with new ideas to give as much as we can to the society.

“You have to be burning with an idea, or a problem, or a wrong that you want to right. If you’re not passionate enough from the start, you’ll never stick it out.”

We organized an event, Kidzpacers fully dedicated to kids of an orphanage in Cannaught Place, New Delhi. Then we also organized an event for Womoz for the girls of Jamia University in Delhi. Everything went great and we covered these sections of society to spread the idea of Open Source and Web literacy.

Mozilla’s long standing-mantra is ‘Think’. Think of how to develop more,Think of the new ideas to make the future community better, Think of how to always spread the Mozilla’s mission in the best and unique way possible. That’s how it always turned out to be more successful day by day.

I’m a College Student. When I got to know about this community it took me approx. one and a half month to figure out what the community is about and how can I join the community until I attended the Mozcoffee meetup. Slowly, I attended few more events, learnt everything when one final day my fellow contributors told me to organize one such event at my college. At first, I really had no idea how that would happen successfully. But then eventually I felt the power of this excitement that filled me with to organize the event. All the communications between the reps and the college authorities was a bit tough. When your college is semi-government, you need to be always aware of the fact that you ought to have patience and calmness to make any event or a small work happen here, otherwise the results would not leave you anywhere. Anyhow, that was well managed by me.

Then, I built my own strong team in the University to make the event a successful one. ‘MozYMCA’, Yes I did organize it well with the help of my mentors and reps. The date was difficult to decide and finally it happened just two days before the exams. That was a tough call. But if you light yourself on fire with passion, people would always come from miles to watch you. The decision of making it happen a week before raised many questions before me. Many told me that it is not possible to make the event happen within such a short span of time. But, I was determined to organize it. Ultimately, it was the passion for Mozilla that was the driving force behind success and happiness that allowed me to organize such an event.

Without passion you don’t have energy, without energy you have nothing. Synergy had always filled me to do the work. I always had the passion for learning. After joining Mozpacers, I learned a lot from the community members who never ceased me to grow but always provided support to me to explore more and drived me to new challenges.

I’m really thankful to the community how it had helped me in my development. I commit to Mozilla India that I’ll always try to mobilize people more and more and pass on and inculcate as much knowledge as I have with me and will always strive my best to learn new things to teach more.

My Goals for Mozilla India Meetup

“If you don’t like something, change it – if you can’t change it, change the way you feel about it.”

The goals of the meetup are very obvious. It is towards Making a New Mozilla India. The flaws which were highlighted by the George in the meetup we had in Delhi were very right to the point and following that I would like to state that a transparent strategy need to be made for the planning of the future community which would have more contributors in the upcoming time.

Frankly speaking in Mozilla Delhi, the meetups had significantly reduced as what I have heard from the old contributors. My goal would be to increase such meetups for the better transparency and communication processes. The meetups should be scheduled at regular intervals of time so that various projects and other upcoming strategies and events can be discussed.

Moreover, we always try to learn from our leads. Developing such leadership qualities cannot happen in just a short span of time. It requires confidence to build up and that can happen only if you are a regular event volunteer or the organizer. Such, Confidence and leadership qualities are therefore mandatory to be a Mozillian because we always need to guide our fellow new contributors so that they can work in a much better and an efficient way.

The communication between the various mozillian communities is significantly very less or you can say not at all. If we are able to reduce this communication gap somehow, I’m sure we could develop in a more  better way. We can learn from our fellow mozillian friends the new technologies that’s new to our community. We can support each other in the best possible way and for making it happen in real, we really require proper communication channels.

If we gather like-minded people in different groups by analyzing their skills and techniques, we could do it in a more better way. Let’s say we have all the techies in one major group, then they can discuss their projects and sort each other’s problem in a much efficient way. Moreover there is always a chance of learning new technologies with the world progressing so much drastically day by day.

If the documentation team is gathered in another group, I really hope that they can suggest edits to each other in whatever best way possible.

But the major flaw comes when we see that such groups nearly become inactive. Some important checks need to be made occasionally by the reps or the leads as to see what each contributor is doing for Mozilla’s mission. In other words, a contributor should be accountable to their leads as to what he/she is doing. If sometimes, leads are busy the same can be handled by the most active contributors. In this way communication would by far improve best. Contributors would also know wherever they are lacking and if not at all, at least they get some motivation to start contributing. Therefore, we can build up a strong community which remains active throughout the year.

Another major problem is the ‘recognition’. Often, it is heard from the contributors that they contribute to the Open source community but in return they only get to hear some good words of appreciation from their mentors. Though, such words of appreciation are indeed required, I totally believe it cannot keep the contributors active for too long. Either they will lose interest in the long run or they would get inactive. Some incentives can be provided by the Mozilla India to make the recognition of such contributors possible. Just for an example, we can have some Certificates as a token of recognition to appreciate such contributors. Such tokens would be very useful to the college students, who are involved with the community in their jobs and interviews. Not only to college students, it would surely be a great help to working professionals and the best part in the life long we would have a memory to cheer.

Being a womoz, my aim would always be to help other girls and women join the community so that we have more womoz in the technical as well as non-technical teams. To increase the awareness, we also organized various womoz events in different colleges and some of them even turned up with positive energy. When I see them so curious about Mozilla, I always remember the first time when I used to ask questions to my friends about what it is and what does it to do. Not only the women we can try to involve the high school students who are literally interested in the web technologies and development. May be that requires a bit more thought but I guess like this we can reach the upcoming youth of our societies .We can figure out their mindsets and help them to outperform in the near future. Hence, we can follow the principle of “Each one teach one”.

For an experience, I would like to share here. When we organized the event for kids : Kidzilla at the ‘Bal Sahyog’ Orphanage, we mentored them individually. We tried to teach them how to make cool web pages.  When we taught them how to start with basic HTML, to my surprise they already knew about it enough. However, it didn’t seem liked that at first. Mentoring and guiding them, I learnt few more HTML tags as they helped me revise my basics. I then strongly felt that we can even look for this section to grow more stronger.

Keeping my aspirations high, having a lots of goals to talk about, now I feel that 1000 characters are going to be less to actually convey and embark the journey of the new Mozilla India. I’m very excited to be a part of this meetup. Hoping for the best J . Thanks a lot for providing all of us this opportunity to write about what we actually expect Mozilla India to be.

MozYMCA

“To Accomplish great things we must not only act but also dream. Not only plan but also believe.”

MozYMCA was organized by Mozpacers (Mozilla Delhi NCR Community) on 12th April,2016 in YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad.

The event planning was done very quick i.e. just five days back but the organizing team managed it well.  From all the communications between the Mozpacers’ leads and the organizing team to the permissions taken from the respective authorities in the college, every task was well executed by the organizing team. 🙂

We started the event at 11.30 am, an hour and a half late from the schedule.

Our Mozilla reps Ajay,Anup and Bhuvnesh couldn’t make it to the event. However, Chirag despite of his busy schedule managed to come and attend the event. Thanks Chirag. 🙂

As the MMC got filled with highly enthusiastic and passionate participants,Chirag gave kick start to the event by giving a short introduction to FOSS and Mozilla.

mozymca

He then introduced all the community members to everyone. He gave the idea about Open source and Open Web and how to contribute and get involved with Mozilla Delhi community to the attendees.

Followed by this, Kunal gave a short overview about the data privacy and security issues to everyone.

In the midst,a short question answer session was organized by me and swags were given to those who gave the most appropriate answers.

After this, Ashu explained and demonstrated about the ‘Hello firefox’ and ‘Pocket’ features of firefox browser. Refreshments were served as soon as session came to an end.

After the interval, Prateek started with his session on GIT. To keep the audience energised and enthusiastic, Sameer and Anshuman also had one to one interaction with everyone.  🙂 They helped the attendees to learn by guiding them with the solutions of the problem they were facing.

Sameer also made the attendees learn in as simple way as possible. He also talked about how should they start with Mozilla and their beginning in the technical world.

Next was the time to introduce Womoz(Women in Mozilla). I talked about how Womoz is working to promote more number of women so that they can also come up and contribute in technical as well as non technical world.

This session was succeeded by the last and the final session by Vipin. He explained everyone about the Bugzilla and how can we file and patch bugs on bugzilla.mozilla.org.

Last and final Quiz round was conducted by Sameer and the swags were again distributed to the attendees.

The impact was magnificient. Not only from CE/IT, We also had participants from all the branches including Mechanical,ECE and Electrical.

The event ended on a great note as pictures of all the attendees with the Mozpacers was clicked.

I would also like to thank my friends Mayank and Ankita who helped me in designing of Certificates and posters for the event and all the volunteers: Nandeesh, Garima, Vipul and Ayushi who helped me in making the event successful. 🙂

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” – Helen Keller

The event would not have been great if the volunteers as well as participants would not have been equally excited.

P.S. : Thankyou Anup  for allowing and giving us the permission to conduct such an event once again on such a short notice.  🙂

“ So Live life with your eyes wide open so you can embrace unexpected moments because you never know when you will be inspired.”

Kidzilla with Mozpacers :)

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can choose to change the world”- Nelson Mandela.

On April 2,2016 We some of the mozillians from the Mozpacers community visited Bal Sahyog,an orphanage in Cannought Place, New Delhi.A day full of learning with the kids present over there was worth anything.

We reached the venue by 9.45 am and Sandeep (IT department head) headed us towards the classroom. Although, we were very firm to teach the kids some technical related aspects, we were not aware of their mindsets. Also, At the very first sight Sandeep had told us that the kids are more interested in playing cricket rather than some learning kind of stuffs. 😛 So, we were all set to ensure that the event would be an interesting one.

Because our community leads: Ajay and Anup were not present with us, so Pushpita took over the initial session of the Basics and some short Quizzes to keep the kids energized and enthusiastic. They were from various age groups 14-18 years old.

Then, Kanika carried on with her talks on various networks and their differences, how computers are connected in a network, concept of browsers and search engines.

Sanyam had some contradictory views while the various sessions were going on. He felt that there’s a lot of things planned in the agenda and we need to change it accordingly as per the requirements and capabilities of students. Soon, he took over the Kanika’s session and explained the kids in the simplest and the easiest way possible out.

Following these we asked some brainstorming questions to them like ‘when was the first time they heard of web?’, ‘Describe web in a word’ and many more.

In some or the other response, I could just hear the word ‘Hacking’.One kid suddenly rose up and asked Sanyam “Bhaiya, yeh hacking kya hoti hai ? kaise karte hain hacking?” ( What is hacking and how do we do it ?)  😛  Then, Kunal explained about some hacking related terms and he made the difference clear between the hackers and the crackers.I hope the kids now don’t misinterpret between these two terms.

In the midst of all these activities, we also kept tweeting about the various sessions and the happenings going on. 😀

Then, We divided the kids in the groups of around 9-10 each. Kanika,Saurabh,Chirag,Kunal,Sanyam and me then finally taught them how to make the web page using HTML  :). We made them learn simple tags.To my utmost surprise, some of them knew the tags already. It was just as if we were brushing their knowledge and learning from them too, as they also told us some new attributes of the tags which we had forgotten a long ago. Thanks to these kids, I revised the HTML back 😛

Finally, We divided the class in two groups and had an ice breaker session where they raised questions to each other. They were giving some kind of answers but not the complete answers. However, they did their level best to answer each other, I wasn’t completely satisfied the answers they gave.Somehow, I tried to answer them correctly.

We also awarded swags to those who gave nice answers  🙂 .

Also, we had some clicks with the girls over there. Surely, they would make up the future Womoz  🙂

A day was really very spent with kids 🙂 at Bal Sahyog. I hope We made them smile at least once through all these learnings and interactions we had with them. Neverthless, it made me smile too  🙂

Kidzilla with Mozpacers was really one such event of it’s kind: A different one from all the events we had in past. Thanks to Pushpita who had the courage to organize it. 🙂

I hope we are going to have many more such events in the future also.

MozCoffee 6.0 :Meetup with Mozillian Employees

Mozcoffees’ have always been my favourite because I joined the Mozpacers community on a Mozcoffee. ❤

Since a long time, No meetups were planned in the community as such but when everybody came to know about the MozCoffee V6.0,an adrenalin rush ran in the veins of every other active Mozillian in the community.

A Cherry to the cake was added when we came to know that the two Mozillian employees: Sara and Jochai from California were coming as our guests to be part of the Mozcoffee V6.0.

Unlike other meetups we had with the community members, this one was crucial because firstly Our community lead Anup was not present and Secondly,We had our guests Sara and Jochai with us,who travelled all the way from US to Delhi. J

All the plannings were done for the 16th Feb.The event venue was all set. However, event started an hour late from the schedule. The guests were welcomed at the venue by Ajay and all the other fellow mozillians. As usual, Ajay gave a kick start to the event by giving introduction to Mozilla and it’s contribution pathways.

While I was busy in my documentation work,Bhuvnesh called me to get hold on the DSLR 😀 . Kanika then managed the documentation work.Meanwhile, I clicked some of the pictures of the guests and they were happy being clicked, giving me some cool comments  😉

Within no time, Pushpita was called upon to deliever a talk on Womoz J . Then, the official launch of mozpacers website was done by Sanyam,Nikhil,Manraj and Chirag.Nikhil and Sanyam gave a brief description on that.

Finally, Sara and Jochai shared their stories with us.They made everyone do some warm exercises and the participants later asked them various questions to which they reverted very calmly and patiently.

Later,we had two help desks arranged for the attendees: One for the technical related stuff and the other for the non technical. The various queries raised by the participants were resolved and the registrations of the candidates was done using Moz-Connect.

While all these things were happening at help desks, refreshments were distributed to the attendees. In the midst, I had a small talk with Sara and Jochai. I shared my personal experiences of my journey in Mozilla with them. I tried to answer their every question they put upon me.I would say it was a nice talk I had with them. I clicked few pictures of them also for which they called me as an ‘awesome’ photographer :P.

As soon as the attendees left, the core-contributors of the community had a talk with Sara and Jochai. The community members discussed various future aspects of a growing community. Everybody raised their queries regarding the growth of community and put forth their views how the Mozillian employees can help us in building the strong open source community.

Sara and Jochai, also appreciated us for what we have done until now in the community. They were highly moved by our contributions and the way we had worked in the community. Few words of appreciation from these two Mozillian employees made everyone happy and enthusiastic for keep doing the much better work in future J.

The event finally ended.

Mozcoffee V6.0 was indeed a great, successful and the important event in the Mozpacers history. Surely, We the mozpacers are going to have many such great events in the coming future.

P.S. I know I’m very late for this blogspot :p . Probably, due to my fest related activities in college and planning some more events for the Mozpacers.

Mozillians at MSIT

Even the smallest of thoughts have the potential to become the biggest of successes… all you have to do is get up and get going !!

It was 30th January,2016 when the MozMsit event was scheduled for.Few hangouts calls and sessions and finally we were all set for the day.All the preparations were done beforehand.

It has been almost five months when i attended the Mozcoffee 5.0.Since,then it was my first event that i was going to volunteer for Mozilla.

In the morning,I along with Ashu reached Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology,New Delhi.Akansh was there itself to embrace us.Then,we headed towards the lecture hall and a well organised planned event was in front of us.

Soon the event reckoned as Bhuvnesh introduced everyone present in the hall to the Mozilla and it’s  open source community in Delhi. He made everyone well equipped with the mozpacers and it’s mission. Then,Manraj who went for the MozSummit in Singapore shared his views and experiences with everyone. He emphasised how Mozilla has provided him a platform where he has showcase his work. The attendes were made aware how to make contribution in mozilla and how such a contribution will bring about the best in them.

As the event progressed,it was now the turn for womoz to come up and deliever few thoughts about Mozilla. The active women Mozillians are very few in number and to give them more opportunities and empowerment,Mozilla has taken an initiative ‘WOMOZ’.

“Opportunities are like sunrises. If you miss them, you have to wait for long.”

When life opens up opportunities to you, you either take them or you stay afraid of taking them and to succeed, jump as quickly at opportunities as you do at conclusions.

It was the first time i was going to speak for any event in Mozilla in front of this great audience.A bit nervous but still confident,I and Ashu managed well enough to share few words with everyone.

To make the event more interactive and built up some enthusiasm in everyone, a general quiz was organised by Saurabh and Tanshul. Swags and goodies were given to those who answered correctly.

Then,a GIT session was organised by Sanyam.Demonstration of the GIT commands and how is GITHUB useful and what all can be done using GIT was well explained by Sanyam.A great session indeed with a lot of learning and then the queries were taken up by everyone.

Meanwhile, I got the DSLR from Yash who was already taking some photographs 😉  Some photographs and compliments by Bhuvnesh cheered me up.  😀

Next was the turn for Saurabh who was well prepared for his session on ‘Webmaker’.He made the attendees well aware of the web and how they can contribute by making the web better. The tools such as X-ray googles and thimble were very well introduced and demonstrated to everyone by Saurabh.

Later,a question answer session was organised where queries of everybody was solved and they were provided with the solutions and answers as to how to start with Mozilla.

“You have to have a big vision and take very small steps to get there. You have to be humble as you execute but visionary and gigantic in terms of your aspiration. In the Internet industry,it’s not about grand innovation,it’s about a lot of little innovations: every day, every week, every month, making something a little bit better.”

Yes,some innovation is indeed required to come up with some great ideas. We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. But infact, the opportunities are in front of us.Just we need to open our eyes and get an insight of them because if we wait for opportunities to occur,we will be one of the crowd. We need to seize them.

Mozilla provides everyone with this opportunity and the community welcomes everyone who in the someway can contribute to make the web better. Not only the web better, but yourself better 😉 .My answer to everyone who wants to know why should they join Mozilla 😀

The session eventually concluded by giving swags to everyone and with some group photographs. It was a great day and an impressive event.Everything happened as per the plan.

Kudos to Mozillians who helped in organising such an awesome event.

MOZFEST’15 and learning :D

If you want to know the taste of a pear, you must change the pear by eating it yourself. If you want to know the theory and methods of revolution, you must take part in revolution. All genuine knowledge originates in direct experience.
Well , Our community mentor,Anup punch the clock to MOZFEST 2015 in London this month and he made all the community members implicitly exist there by sharing all the events and activities going on there on our whatsapp mozpacers group and the slack channel. After his visit to London and the mozfest, a Vidyo session was organised to let know everybody about the projects and the other activities discussed.
As soon as the meeting started, Anup eventuated by sharing his experiences with us and the conversations he had there about our community..how the mozpacers Delhi NCR community was being discussed at mozfest and how it came to limelight over there.
The meeting was about the leadership and how the leadership and a leader can build a better and effective community.I genuinely feel a leader is the one who leads the community and keeps track of it’s work and goals in progress.Whether you are a core contributor or a member(it doesn’t matter) when talking about the mozpacers community. When you manage things; you lead people. Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others. Yess,It is, after all, the responsibility of the expert to operate the familiar and that of the leader to transcend it. It depends on  the leader how he/she is influencing his members and the way he/she is moulding and providing guidance to them.
Pick up a grain a day and add to your heap. You will soon learn, by happy experience, the power of littles as applied to intellectual processes and gains. 🙂 These little experiences shared by our community members makes everyone enthusiastic to participate more in such MOZ events. The power and the energy it fills in everyone is worth observing. 😀
A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves.Everyone must work with integrity with other members of the community. It’s not always about the participation of the leader itself. It’s about every other member in the community working together to make it effective to achieve it’s goals and plans.
So,eventually as the meeting progressed, Anup told us about collaboration with other open source communities and how we can work on open source projects with them.He also gave us insight of ‘Iceberg Model’ and it’s usefulness in long run.
Finally,I would like to cipher what i learned from the vidyo session –
“Leadership is lifting a person’s vision to high sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations.”
My Contributions
It’s been almost two months now that i have been a part of such an awesome community.Within such short span of time, I made few good friends too who would always support me 🙂 😀 .My contributions are not many, just small ones.Yet, the people over here have always appreciated me in whatever i did. They always understand the problems while you are off work.I’m currently working for the documentation team in mozpacers community and looking forward to involve more with technical teams as soon as possible.
Mozpacers, having courage to think differently, courage to invent, to travel the unexplored path, courage to discover the impossible and to conquer the problems and succeed makes it an effective and most discussed community globally 😀
Mozpacers as an effective Community
Currently, there are more than 30+ contributors in our community.
On the regular basis, events like mozcoffee, devsprint our organised where we have participation from large number of people
A well mannered and organised tracking of every member is done so as to what contributions he/she is making.
The members of the community are given a chance to share their experiences via blogposts and other times when we meet. 🙂
Womoz(Women Mozillians) is expanding day by day so as we have more women contributors, hence giving empowerment to women.
Mozpacers NCR community has voulnteers from Punjab,NewDelhi,Himachal Pradesh, Haryana in  Northern India
The community members are appreciated for the contributions they make, hence giving them more zealousness to work.
Mozpacers, working with their full dedication for the community and everyone doing their assigned work and voulnteering their teams, therefore giving rise to an effective leadership.
This is just the beginning of the show. The more is yet to come 😉 Mozpacers are going to reach great heights within few months hence becoming one of the most powerful community globally. 😀  🙂

Why MOZILLA ? ;)

“You don’t have to say everything to be a light. Sometimes a fire built on a hill will bring interested people to your campfire.”
Yeah, such is the Mozilla NCR community in Delhi. It’s been about a month I am a mozpacer and part of this wonderful family and now, when someone would question me what inspired you to join the community,I would simply answer it was my will 🙂 in addition to the commendations provided by my friends 😀
The idea of “Open Source” fascinated me much to be a part of the community.Mozilla appreciates for every small work you do whether it is the technical or the non-technical work and who the hell in this world isn’t delighted to hear some words of appreciation from the great mentors, reps and the fellow colleagues.
Our work is going to fill a large part of our life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what we believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what we do.Yeah, you love open Source,Go for mozilla  🙂 #foxYeah. It provides you the platform to develop what you want. You have developed a love for web and you are exploring it’s depths, this awesome firefox browser will help you do so.
Believe you can and you’re halfway there.Yes, have the faith and trust for mozilla and you get a lot more and beyond your expectations from the community..When we aim to achieve big and out of box, naturally we require the support from our friends. You wish to do something big and  have that passion, your fellow mozillian friends will always motivate and inspire you to achieve the same.
Mozilla provides  platform to develop oneself whether personal development, speaking skills or the ability to work upon new projects. In this technical era, where we daily come across new technologies and various softwares,it is possible that we may not have complete knowledge of everything. Here, we share our views, thoughts and knowledge and learn from each other alot. From what part of world you are or what so ever area or field of interest you have, being a mozillian will always be the cherry on the cake to your career in long run.
Wherever we travel to, the wonderful people we meet become our family. I have been to angelhacks at Knowlarity Communications,Cyber Hub.I was not the part of the community but still by the end of hackathon some of the mozillians became good friends. At the MozCoffee event this October,I finally joined mozpacers and learnt more about the community how it works and how the active mozillians are contributing to different projects. They put their heart, mind, and soul into each and every smallest acts. The dediaction with which everyone work is amazing.
Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine. Haha, An incident i would like to share here.It all started when one night Shubham was motivating me to join mozilla. He was the one who provoked me to know more about the community and develop my interest for the community.
After joining the mozpacer community, the womoz pushpita is the one who has guided me at each and every step. She has helped me to do the things very smoothly and easily 🙂 .Kunal also made us learn about the technicalities of the firefox browser. He was always there to help whenever I was in a dilemma.
Overall,I had a  good experience with the mozpacers until now and i’m sure i’ll get more involved with the community in the near future.
Finally, I halt my views concluding that ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.  🙂

First Time Mozzer :D

Synergy is what happens when one plus one equals ten or a hundred or even   a thousand!
Yes,this Saturday I got to meet a lot of new people from the Mozilla NCR Community. The event was scheduled at 2pm on 3rd October 2015 and everybody gathered for the same.First we met the orgainsers of the event Mr.Anup Mishra and Mr.Ajay, and then the rest of the members of the community and other non-members too.Slowly,we were complacable with the environment and the people over there. The event started at 2.30pm
It all began with Mr.Anup and Mr.Ajay’s introductory on the agenda of the event-“Mozcoffee Windows10 Campaign”.They both tried to know what the invitiees know about the agenda and interacted with them.
Then Kunal began his presentation on SECURITY and cross questioned everybody to know what they understand by the term.He then explained the notion of security clearly and which inbuilt tools and features firefox browser has to achieve the same.He further explained about incognito browsing and ‘Do not Track’ feature.
Incognito Browsing also known as private browsing is another way by which user’s browsing history, search & download history ,cookies and temporary files will not be saved by browser.Firefox allows a user to do so by using a ‘New Private Window’option available in it.
‘Do not track’  features allows you to set a preference not to be tracked by websites. If it is enabled,Firefox tells advertising sites that the user wants to opt out of tracking for purposes like behavioural adverstising(i.e. which sites the user usually visits).
Giving emphasis to Kunal’s words,Harsh continued by explaining the “Light Beam” tool which is a firefox add-on that uses interactive visualisations to show the user which third party websites are tracking him/her online. This add-on can be easily downloaded for the  firefox browser. He further described how the security can be enhanced by using the “AdBlock Plus” add on available in firefox browser which  allows users to block the annoying ads and allows to view the web the way he/she wants.
Then, he went on explaining the other features available in the firefox browser :’POCKET’ and “Hello Firefox”.Pocket button helps the user to save any video, article or page from the firefox window and later the same can be accessed on any device at any time. With the advent of hello firefox, it is now very easy to start a video conversation with anyone(anonymous users or known) because it doesn’t requires any user’s credentials. This is the most unique feature which you won’t be able to find in any other browser. All you need to have is the firefox Web browser 🙂 😀 .
Harsh also bought in limelight the “Mozilla Developer Edition” which is solely developed for the passionate developers. 🙂
Further as the event passed by, Pushpita told how the womoz is contributing to mozilla and focussed on women empowerment in the mozillian community. She shared her experience with us and her journey with mozilla from past 8 months and how it has helped her built in confidence as a result of which ,she is now able to speak in front of around 100-200 students.
Great!! Being a woman,it is  sometimes  difficult, but to know this from a woman fills me back with synergy and enthusiasm again 🙂
In the midst of all this,it was further explained how Firefox could be made as a default web browser in Windows 10 which comes pre-equipped with Microsoft Edge as a default web browser. All you have to do is to Go to Settings<< System<<Default Apps<<Web Browser and then set firefox as your default web browser. Simple and Easy 😀
Later, Everbody gave a short introduction of themselves  and the core contributors and the members shared their experiences and the achievements with us.Snacks and Tea were served meanwhile .Then, people went on discussing their ideas with each other to bring more change  and talked to each other to know more. This marked the end of the event. At last stickers were distributed.lucky me !! I got it 😛
Well, this was my first official mozillia event which i attended this saturday and my first blog too 🙂 happy to write one that too for the mozilla first.Earlier ,I had met some of the members at angelhacks, the place being the same(Knowlarity communications,Cyberhub). It was great to know more people from different orgainsations and other members of the community.A truly different learning experience. I got to learn about the mozillia NCR community and the firefox web browser.#FoxYeah
I believe everything we do and everyone we meet is put in our path for a purpose :).In the near future I’m looking forward for more such meets and learning from great people 😀
